Me & JP: Conversations with a 3-year-old…

20151005_103457

JP is my three-year-old grandson. He and his mom and dad and their English bulldog live with us while their new house is being built.  One of the best things about having them there is spending time talking with him. It makes me hopeful for the next generation.  He is so wise and so much fun!

A quick JP conversation from the other night:

Me:  Hi, did you take a bath?  Your hair is all wet…

JP:  Yes!  (Nearly smacking me in the nose so I can smell his hair.)

Me:  What does that smell like?  Is that your shampoo?

JP:  It’s fruit.  (Whispering)  Nana, I took a shower!

Me:  Ooh, that’s great.  You’re getting so grown up!

JP: Want to smell under my arm?

And…no.

  5. I know those conversations, I have a 3-year-old daughter. She is a Sass and you just never know what she’ll say. You can always count on the young to keep you smiling.

  6. That’s adorable! My daughter is two- amongst the amusing things she’s been telling us: my wife is pregnant, but our daughter has a hard time remembering whose belly the baby is in (sometimes the answer is: all of us… She’s quite existential at times)- but she also recently decided that her favorite character, Ariel, lives in her belly.
