Monday Musings on Tuesday…

Feel like I haven’t written anything in forever, which, sadly, is probably true!  Just wanted to share with you that I had my six month check up after completing my breast cancer surgeries and chemo from last year and everything is looking wonderful.  I can’t tell you what nice news that was to hear.  We did spend an inordinate amount of time talking about my hair as the doctor and nurse hadn’t seen me in several months.  You know, oh, my, it’s so white, so curly, so thick — that will be $150!  I’m also feeling really good this fall, more energy than ever and trying to drop some stubborn pounds before the holiday season really kicks in by working out three times a week.  Even if the pounds don’t fall off dramatically, I’m feeling so good and loving the work outs!

I promise I will get back to writing more as I’ve got both Christmas trees up and decorated and all my Christmas houses out and lit.  Thank goodness for hubby as I’m great with putting everything out, but not so good with getting all the extension cords and timers hooked up and hidden!  Now just baking and some last-minute shopping and I think I’m good to enjoy some sappy Hallmark movies by the glow of my beautiful tree… while I write out the Christmas cards I almost forgot about.  Yikes!

I’ll share a Christmas JP story with you tomorrow.  That child is a fun-filled adventure just waiting to happen.  Hope you all are well into your holiday preparations and enjoying the season…

TMI Thursday, Birthday Edition…

If you were here for the A to Z Challenge last year, you might remember it’s birthday week at my house!  Oldest son (JP’s daddy) had his birthday yesterday, today is mine and youngest son’s is Saturday.  Poor hubby had his in January and we remind him this week is so not about him!

We are going to Top Golf on Saturday with some of the family.  I’ve never been before but have heard good things.  It’s basically an indoor golf place/sports bar kind of atmosphere for people of all ages and they have food and drink, lots of televisions, games and golf in a bay that’s enclosed on three sides and you hit the ball to the outside.  Can you tell I only have sons?

It’s been an interesting and busy last year for us, more surgeries than I would have liked — I guess one is more than I would have liked 🙂 — but things are looking up for sure.  I’m not crazy about the short, white hair after chemo but I’m trying not to whine about it.  Well, not all the time anyway! And I’m grateful for moisturizers and cosmetics that really work miracles!

Oh, and I’m also grateful for my family and friends in real life and this crazy blogging world and surviving cancer and just getting on with life and doing what we love ❤
