Me & JP, C is for Cap…

JP is our youngest grandson who turned five in September. He and his mom a40EE7779-B764-4A35-9D07-CC81CD3BC40Cnd dad lived with us while they were building their house a year ago. Though they’ve moved into their new house now, we still get to pick him up from preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays and spend the afternoon with him. Next year he’ll be in kindergarten all day. He’s so full of fun and remarkably wise for his years!

For Blogging A to Z, I’ll be sharing some of our many conversations over the last few years.  I hope you enjoy!

JP:  Nana, we get to wear hats when we graduate this year!

Me:  I heard about that.  And gowns, too.  They’re called caps and gowns.

JP:  Nana, boys don’t wear gowns!

Me:  Oh, well, these are more like robes.  You know, wizard robes.  And the caps are kind of flat, with a tassel on the side.

JP:  What?

Me:  Well, like a string that hangs down.  I think when Elizabeth graduated from your preschool last year the caps and gowns were red cause that’s one of your school colors.  I think your school colors are red and navy blue.

JP:  No, I think the color is blue.

Me:  But you know how your uniform shirts are red or white or blue?  And then what color are the ones with the stripes?

JP:  I think they’re red and black.

Me:  Well, it might look like black, but I think they’re red and navy blue.

JP:  I think our colors are blue and white.

Me:  Well, I know Elizabeth’s cap and gown were red.

JP:  Wait.  I think our colors are red and navy blue.
