JP is our youngest grandson who turned five in September. He and his mom and dad lived with us while they were building their house a year ago. Though they’ve moved into their new house now, we still get to pick him up from preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays and spend the afternoon with him. Next year he’ll be in kindergarten all day. He’s so full of fun and remarkably wise for his years!
Today is the last day of the Blogging A to Z Challenge, because, hello, we’re on letter Z! I want to thank you all so much for following along and I hope you enjoyed my stories. I have had such fun pulling these together and in some ways, I’ll miss the challenge of posting daily. Special thanks to the new people who’ve signed up to follow my blog and I promise I will be around to visit everyone soon.
JP: ZUKA ZAMA!
Me: Is that from Lion Guard? Who says that?
JP: Bunga. He’s a honey badger. I love Lion Guard. Look, Nana, I have my Lion Guard shirt on!
Me: I see. I love that shirt. (FYI, The Lion Guard is a cartoon on Disney Junior television, a follow up to their wildly successful Lion King movie. Zuka Zama means “pop up, dive in.” Yes, I looked it up at the Disney site. Who thinks of a honey badger as a character anyway? Other than those incredibly smart, incredibly rich Disney people…)
I’ll leave you with some of my favorite pictures from the last five years!
Nice finish! And the photos are adorable! He’s such a cutie, I hope you always have ‘conversations with JP’! 💖

Thank you! Yeah, I kind of dread him growing up and not needing his nana as much!

Thanks, D! Can you tell he was driving the sleigh? I have a bonus story for tomorrow. He’s still a hoot!

Oh yay!! Can’t wait to read it! Give him a hug for me. Just tell him a fiend in your computer sent it. that should spark an interesting conversation LOL

He’ll always need his Nana. I miss my grandparents daily. Love the Blackhawks jersey, by the way. 😊

I know…me, too. Have to hope the nieces and nephews get married soon and we have more little ones in the family!

Long, long time ago, military people called one of my sons Honey Badger too. I liked the mental picture the nick name gave me, but I learned farther back to look it up or risk potentially embarassing had to look it up long ago

What a cutie! And kind of disappointing we won’t get as many conversations with JP… And I love honey badgers. Part of that is from watching the Kratz brothers, and part from a Natl Geographic special on them. They are unbelievably smart!
