JP is our youngest grandson who turned five in September. He and his mom and dad lived with us while they were building their house a year ago. Though they’ve moved into their new house now, we still get to pick him up from preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays and spend the afternoon with him. Next year he’ll be in kindergarten all day. He’s so full of fun and remarkably wise for his years!
For Blogging A to Z, I’ll be sharing some of our many conversations over the last few years. I hope you enjoy.
We decide to take our old, arthritic dog for a walk because he just loves it and really, what else does he have to look forward to in life anymore? He’s almost 15 and he wears a diaper at night…
JP: Nana, want to pretend we’re two old villagers taking our dog for a walk?
Me: Okay, sure. What village are we from?
JP: I think it’s Scottsdale. (Okay, now, I’m guessing there are some old villagers in Scottsdale, but I’m confused, LOL!)
Me: Are you sure you mean Scottsdale? That’s a city in Arizona. Where lots of, uhm, older people go when they retire.
JP: No, I meant that place they show on Mickey sometimes. They have a castle.
Me: Oh, maybe you meant Scotland?
JP: Yes, that’s it!
Scotland is way better. 🙂

Ha! I can see how he confused the two. They’re eerily similar locales. 😃😃

Hah! Love him. You’ll have to visit – it is very beautiful there! But also in the south, where I live.

I would love a visit to either place! Before I get to be too old of a villager myself, lol!

Nice that he thinks of Scotland as the place where Mickey shows sometimes – hope he’s not disappointed when he visits! 🙂

I hope he does go someday. But not before I have a chance to visit!
