Me & JP, B is for Boyfriend…

JP is our youngest grandson who turned five in September. He and his mom a40EE7779-B764-4A35-9D07-CC81CD3BC40Cnd dad lived with us while they were building their house a year ago. Though they’ve moved into their new house now, we still get to pick him up from preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays and spend the afternoon with him. Next year he’ll be in kindergarten all day. He’s so full of fun and remarkably wise for his years!

For Blogging A to Z, I’ll be sharing some of our many conversations over the last few years.  I hope you enjoy!

JP:  Nana, do you have a boyfriend?

Me:  I do have a boyfriend!

JP:  You, do??  Who is it?

Me:  Well, it’s Papa.

JP:  Oh.  (I think he’s disappointed.)

Me:  Why?  Do you have a girlfriend?

JP:  Yes.

Me:  You do?  Who is it?

JP:  It’s Hayden.

Me:  Is Hayden the new girl in your class?

JP:  Yes.  She told me she was my girlfriend and I’m her boyfriend.

Me:  Well, then, I guess you are, right?

JP:  Right!

    1. Honestly, though, he’s may want to watch out. There may be some Bunny Boiler tendencies in the making here. 🙂

      1. Hahaha! Ya’ know, that’s a valid point. Attitude is one thing, but being that demanding could portend a visit to the Jerry Springer show in the future. Yeah, on second thought, he may wanna gracefully slide outta this one. 😃

    2. You know, at this age the girls can be a little pushy, haha! And he is a really good listener!

      1. Hahaha! That listening thing will serve him well….so long as he stays out of the “friend zone”. 😃

  4. Oh, I’m amazed at some of the things he says! But he’s an only child, so he spent his first few years with just adults most of the time!

  11. I’m so glad his answer wasn’t: It’s complicated! If only we kept up with the simplicity of children. Cute stuff here.

Glad the A to Z Challenge brought me back this way – it’d been too long!

      1. Just wait til he asks for a kickback. My youngest will see something happening and mutter, “THAT’S going on the blog!”
