Wish You Were Here…

Instead of me!  I’m home in IL from Hawaii, just in time for THIS!  At least hardly anybody is going anywhere today and I have groceries in the house.

The picture on the left is my front yard and you can see how much snow is on the bench.  The other picture is the hot tub and that’s the grill on the left.

My poor old dog followed me out while I was trying to shovel him a path cause we have about 9 inches of snow and expecting more all weekend.  He, of course, had to be first and plunged into the snow that was up to his tummy and just stood in one spot until I shoveled him out!

    1. I didn’t have my phone but I’ll try to get one later. He is not amused by this snow — he’s 14 now!

      1. I didn’t do any of the shoveling. I was a look 👀 out for the snow ⛄️ plows …

      2. So no slipping in the street today? Good! The plow won’t get to us till tonight, I bet. I wonder if we will get mail today?

  5. Ah, back to reality, huh? At least you got a little break from it. Kinda smacks you in the face after being in Hawaii though. Ugh. Come on Spring!!!! 😃😃

      1. That’s a blessing. You know though, I don’t mind driving in snow. My truck handles it just fine. It’s the ice I hate. Stay warm! 😃😃

      2. True that on the ice! I have all wheel drive — I think that’s right, so my SUV is good usually. But there are always so many accidents around here…

  6. Sounds like we are just north of you. We have about 12″ now and it seems to be stopping for a bit. Another 4″ or so tomorrow and another 4″ on Sunday? I am ready to move to FL!

  9. Oh my! I remember our Colorado days well, when we’d have to shovel a path for one of our dogs, a Westie. She didn’t like snow at all, would do her job then head back in. She was so happy when we moved to Arizona! 😀

  10. In 6 months, I’ll be complaining that it’s too hot. But yeah, I’m glad we’re not having all that snow right now. We’re getting rain this weekend. Yuck. Hm… maybe that’s worse…!

    1. As long as it’s not icy. I hate driving on that!

  11. I personally think this is beautiful albeit quite a shock to the system after a vacation in Hawaii. We are complaining because of our low of 43F and high of 58F with clouds. Actually about 5 degrees colder because we live on a mountain above Pátzcuaro, Mexico, where these temps are recorded. The hard part is that the houses do not have central heating. So, about 53F inside this morning.😁

  12. LOL! Picturing your dog jumping into the snow then learning it’s too deep. We’ve escaped the brunt of the snowstorms this year where I live in MN, but we’ve got the cold. Oh boy. You know something’s wrong when the possiblity of 30 deg (F) is accompanied by digging out t-shirts and shorts 😀

    1. Yep, people here break out the shorts when it’s above freezing.

  13. Lucky you. Bob got excited here in good old Ireland as it started to snow, then turned to rain and we are now sitting indoors looking at a cold wet mess. Bob has not left his seat beside the fire in a couple of hours and I think he has the right idea. Enjoy your pretty snow, and I am looking forward to seeing some pics of your dog.

    1. Oh, Inga and Chief both loved the snow when they were younger. I’ll see if I can find some pictures of them from other years. Poor Bob, expecting snow and getting rain!
