It’s been super cold here in the Midwest (high of ten degrees today, low of 12 below last night) but we’re expecting warm ups by this weekend and maybe even 40 degrees one or two days next week! Hallelujah! We have some snow, but only three or four inches. And the sun is shining brightly, hence the really, really cold temps. When it hits above freezing I may attempt to clear the driveway, but really, if I can drive over the snow, does it matter?
But the East Coast was hit with a “bomb cyclone” recently, with more than a foot of snow in many places and now dropping temps. Is that even a real term or just something the weather people made up? (Okay, I looked it up and yes, it’s a real meteorological term so if you want to know what brings the snow and cold, you can look it up online, too, 😉 ) To all my East Coast friends and family, please stay safe and warm! Hopefully we will get through January and February here in the States and on to better weather…
It’s bone chilling cold here too, and has been for a couple weeks. I’ve watched that storm and it’s rough. Hell, even Savannah, Charleston, and Tallahassee got snow!!! It’s crazy! We don’t have a lick of snow here, which is fine with me, but it’s sooooo cold! I’m already done with winter, but, alas, February is our worst month, so I suspect it’s far from over. We’re getting some temps in the 50’s next week!! May have to break out my flip flops. Stay warm! And, screw the driveway! Let the sun do its job. 😃😃

The whole country is crazy this year! Stay warm! I saw a guy in shorts out today. It was 3 degrees this morning. I wanted to go all mom on him! I always keep hats and gloves, blankets, in my car in case I’d get stuck w/out heat. And yeah no driveway shoveling unless it gets in the 30s!

Here in SW Michigan we have about 24″ of snow. I am dreading the warm up next week because it is also supposed to rain and it is going to be a mess. Ick. I am hoping for a slow warm up!

You get the lake effect snow then? My girlfriends have done summer trips to Grand Haven area many times. So pretty there but I’m guessing the winters are a little rough!

That is just north of us. Yes, lovely but the lake effect snow is crazy. This is the coldest winter since we moved here 5 years ago.

I feel for you! It’s always on our Chicago news and your snow totals are thru the roof. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs so I know we’ve had some really cold winters before but this is a long stretch!

Thanks. We moved here from Western NY – Buffalo/Rochester area so we expect hard winters but this is crazy all over! Stay warm!

It’s in the teens with wind chills in the single digits here. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse – the actual temperature is supposed to be -3! I haven’t left the house except to haul in more logs for the fire!

Yeah, I go out but not to walk around! Going to the gym is keeping me sane. But for us the temps should go up by Sunday, at least around 30. Who can enjoy the snow when it’s so cold?

Exactly! The 30’s are going to feel like spring!

I feel like we’ve had more snow here than three or four inches, but we get the lake effect. It has been pretty miserable. Lots of inside time. I hope you’re right that warmer weather is coming. My younger daughter’s outdoor track practice starts soon. 🙂

Talk about yikes! They won’t really run outside in this, will they? I bet you got more snow than us. We’re much further south and west. I wouldn’t even hate the snow if it didn’t have to get SO darn cold right away! Stay warm!!

They run outside unless it’s below zero. Crazy, but I think otherwise they’d never get to run. The indoor track is for the indoor track team.
You stay warm, too!

Do you want to come for a visit so you can thaw out? We have a comfy couch! 😉
We lived in eastern Iowa for about four years. I enjoyed the snow, but mostly it was icy and cold. I don’t miss that part at all!

If we weren’t going to Kauai in a couple of weeks, I’d take you up on that offer for sure! Hubby is from TN originally so this weather is not his favorite thing either…

It’s f-ing cold! I wouldn’t mind the foot-and-a-half of snow if it wasn’t so damn cold. High today was around 10… tomorrow’s high is, like, 2 or 3… “feels like” -500. Okay, I made that last one up. But it’s probably close. LOL Hell, my daughter has a pool party tomorrow. Yes… pool party! Indoors, obviously, but it’s too cold to even leave the house!!

Oh, the thought of going in water and then going out in that weather is just gross. Hope it was fun for her at least!

She had a great time. Fortunately, they had pizza and cake after swimming so she was all dry by the time she went outside again. But you know kids… they just do things and don’t think about them the way we do…

Bitter bitter cold. Stay warm! We had 5 nights of hard freeze, and just warmed up a bit. I was really happy to see the sun. I can’t imagine how ya’ll are faring with those temps you have.

I have seen a man shoveling, wearing shorts and not young, either. Brrr-r! ⛄
The photograph was beautiful, Dee. ❄ There is beauty in the white snow but I have to go out in it to start my car, drive while it is dark and I miss my old “school closing” days. Are you still working in the school? xo 💖

No, thankfully, I was able to retire. Now I just babysit and bowl and do fun stuff like travel. Not a bad life! How are you doing?

So glad you are still part of your grandson’s life.
I’m back on a different online dating service and really like someone but must play it “cool.” 😉 😎
I still work at the warehouse but may be taking real estate classes, to become my youngest daughter’s assistant. I would love this!
I would not have considered this had she not been so successful last year.
I will be happy to leave the warehouse! Yay! (Cross your fingers. . .) xo 💐
