Monday Musings on Christmas…

If you celebrate Christmas, do you open gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?  We’ve always done our big celebration on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is sometimes eating out or going to the movies or just relaxing at home and enjoying family.  Hope you have a wonderful Monday and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my dear friends and family!

  1. For me, Christmas Eve includes opening (flannel) Christmas pajamas…and fuzzy socks and/or slippers…that never gets old and is something I love the most about Christmas…for me, it’s the epitome of nurturing. Wishing you the best of the season 🙂

    1. As the kids got older and some got married, we had to change the holidays a little to accommodate everyone, but yep, whatever works, right?

  4. Our tradition is to open one on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning after we see what Santa brought. There is certainly no right or wrong way to do it. I think the individual traditions are interesting.

    1. Absolutely no right or wrong. I think each family works their own traditions in and makes them special…

  5. We do church Christmas Eve and presents Christmas morning. Then the rest of Christmas day is spent in pjs being as lazy as possible enjoying new things. But I was raised around a lot of Germans who always opened presents on Christmas Eve.

I think if I ever start my own family/traditions, I’d do the “open the new pair of pjs gift” Christmas Eve hehe. Then you get the best of both worlds AND new pjs to sleep in!
