Monday Musings About a Little Libation…

I’m having a group of folks over this weekend and I’m looking for some nice fall like drinks that could be made up ahead of time in a pitcher. It’s not really a Halloween party, but it needs to have alcohol for sure. I was thinking various beers and hard ciders? But maybe one type of cocktail, too?

All ideas are welcome!

  2. Ever a bad time for bourbon, especially if it’s chilly. 😃

  3. Over the weekend we crashed a friend’s hunting party taking taking a rest. In the midst of miles of wheat fields, with the afternoon sun warming us the Samuel Adams PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) tasted amazing. a couple of us also agreed that one a year was enough. 😉

    1. I’ve had that too! It’s dang good. I’ve also chai with bourbon. Tasted like a Fall-inspired hot toddy!

  4. You know what’s good. Sangria, it makes you feel all sunny inside but it’s a good halloween colour! Hot toddies for the cold! Man, I love drinking 😂 never too early for mulled wine in my opinion. There’s hundreds of recipes online for halloween cocktails, we sometimes just print a few off and get the ingredients then people can make their own 😀 hope you have a blast!

    1. All good ideas, thanks. I saw a Fireball Sangria recipe that sounded yummy

  5. Where is Meg when you need her? You could do a bourbon, or tequila tasting. Something to warm the innards. 2-4 mini (1 oz) shots of different styles or types. Have your guests cleanse their palettes in between with a little fruit, bread, or cheese. Mulled wine, or a fall themed Sangria with Star Anise, pears, and apples.

  7. You could do a spiced apple cider in the crockpot. Butter shots liquor tastes REALLY good in this! So does Cinnamon schnapps. 🙂

    1. I was going to suggest the spiced apple cider in the crockpot as well – definitely one of my favorites!

  8. Hard cider is a great idea! Whiskey cocktails always go over well in cool weather. Like the classic Manhattan or Side Car. If you did apple cider in the crock pot, you can spike it with dark rum and apple pie spices!

  9. I am useless on this topic. But hard cider is one of the few things I used to drink…

  10. I do a boysenberry cider in the crockpot for all winterish entertaining 🙂 Is exceptionally yum and not as heavy as a mulled wine 🙂
