If Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder…

…you should be crazy about my blog by now!

Just kidding, I’m so sorry I’ve been absent from posting for awhile.  I’m fine, fighting some crazy sinus infection/cold type of thing almost all summer.  I did go to the doctor once, they gave me antibiotics and it took a few weeks and it got better, then a few weeks later it was back just a little bit.  It seems manageable if I keep taking my allergy meds and drinking my tea with honey.

I do go for bloodwork in August and maybe that will show something.  Maybe I’m anemic.  I get tired a lot, but that could be the antihistamine or the allergies or the cold or being a post-menopausal woman who doesn’t always sleep well or — well, you get the idea!

Here’s a couple of jokes from my grandson JP and his mommy to help you through the workday.

JP:  Why did the cookie go to the doctor?

NANA:  I don’t know, why?

JP:  Because he felt crumby!  (Much giggling!)

MOMMY:  I have a joke.  Why was six afraid of seven?

JP:  Why?

MOMMY:  Because seven eight nine!  (Ba ba bump!)  (I’m not sure JP really got this one, but the rest of us thought it was adorable)

And with that, I promise if you’ll stick around the material will eventually get even better! 😉

    1. Omg, Justin will love it! I have to do a post about what he calls Bob cranes (you know, like Bob cats?) I should record it on my phone but usually it’s when I’m driving he says stuff like that!

      1. The funny stuff always seems to be unexpected and at inopportune times!

The other thing about the hot dog joke is that my kid asked me the question… and when I figured out the answer, I excitedly proclaimed… “I’m the wiener!!” My husband, in the next room, heard me and didn’t know what the hell was going on! Haha 😀

  6. Hope you start feeling better soon! And yes, I’m crazy about your blog!
Don’t want to be a downer, but the year following my radiation treatment, my immune system was crap. Seems like I caught everything that was going around. It was back on track the next year though, so at least there’s that. 👍

    1. I didn’t know you had radiation. Should I remember this from a post you doofus and is everything okay now? But yes the doctor said the chemo could lower resistance. They want me to get a shingles vaccine but not until next spring because of that. Since we babysit the little germ factory two afternoons a week, I’m probably exposed to a lot more stuff, too.

      1. It was after my last surgery — I wrote two posts about my recovery. Remember where I talked about not being able to eat? But I didn’t mention the radiation that came later because in comparison, it was no big deal! 😉
The tumors I had weren’t cancerous, but they were “behaving aggressively” according to my surgeon. And since they couldn’t get all of it removed, they decided to zap the rest. The treatment they used was called “cyber knife” – very high tech with minimal side-effects. So I got off lucky.

  7. I hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy “the little germ factory.”😂

  8. Whatever you have has been something plaguing so many in the building where I work….and, town in general…and, yes, it does hang on, and just when you think you’re starting to shake it, it returns with an annoying, sleep stealing vengeance. I don’t want to push my luck, but I haven’t felt its wrath in a few weeks now…I really hope you feel much better soon! Also, I loved the joke…”because seven eight nine” 🙂
