I’m afraid I might have been a little cocky with that Saturday post. Just a quick note to tell you things are okay, chemo and even more so the Neulasta injection they gave me the day after chemo to fight infection, are literally kicking my butt. Symptoms started Sunday, better today, but what they refer to as “bone pain” was incredibly painful which meant I had to take pain meds again, which make me sleepy and constipated. And I had to take the anti-nausea pills a couple of times.
Current side effects are fatigue, joint pain and just generally not feeling well. Hoping I’ll be writing again soon…

No pic, sorry! I never even saw the plastic surgeon. Sleeping when he came an went. Wound care is so cool. It’s like a sponge thing taped on my boob with tubes to a pack on the left side that auctions fluid every so often. Yo don’t change dressing or anything!

I adore your portrait. I’m going to share it with my friend who danced her way through a double mastectomy and has led our dance group ever since — besides writing and performing in a number of plays, and numerous other activities. She lives every minute to the hilt. She will love the image and all it implies. Get well at your own pace: I reckon the world needs you.

I was unaware of your condition! But it’s great to know you are recuperating and that you had only to remove two swollen lymph nodes with no sign of cancer.

Some problems with swelling and bleeding, doc doesn’t feel it’s too major. We knew the blood thinner injections could be an issue 😦

Personal update: So far, plans for a zoo trip with my two grandsons and Calisto’s two sons are in the “works.” Also, thanks to my oldest daughter getting reduced tickets and giving them to us, a day spent sometime before October 23rd at the Renaissance festival, just the 2 of us. I am making progress, although his ex-wife has asked him to spend extra weekends with his boys and I didnt want to intrude. He jumped at my future idea of the zoo, which made me smile.
Take it easy, hope you are allowed bon-bon’s or some such treat, Dee. 🙂
