Monday Musings, Making Lemonade…

I’ve gotten a great assortment of cute and heartfelt wishes already from friends and family about my mastectomy tomorrow.  I appreciate all the thoughts, prayers and good wishes more than I could ever tell you!

And then I got this from Laura, at Fountain Pen Follies, a dear friend who truly shares my sense of humor 😀  (Hoping the reconstruction is a little better than this!)

You are in the best place in the entire world for this treatment and although I’m pretty sure this is a major deal to you, it’s just Tuesday for them. They are pro’s. Been around the medical profession all my life and be glad your are here. Let them take care of you and you just rest and get better. I’ll be praying my Rosary for you daily. Looking forward to lunch again soon, hopefully before the October & November winds starts a blowin…How’s that for trying to get my groove on 🙂 Love ya, Mz. D and all will be well soon. Please get in touch w/me if you need anything. I’ll jump in my car and get it to you. No really I will. Just shoot me an email or msg me on my phone. Do you do FB? If so send me a friend request ❤ Good luck sweetie ❤

  19. EXACTLY! I saw this on a Maxine greeting card many years ago. On the outside it read: “When life hands you lemons” and on the inside, “Stick ’em in your bra!” I remembered it because it was so funny. BEST of luck to you tomorrow. ❤

      3. How long does it take?

        Like

      4. I think 4 to 5 hours total, cause reconstruction right after surgery. And they remove a couple of lymph nodes to test and see if they need more or not. The nuclear med test sounds bad, insert needle 4 times into nipple area w/radioactive isotope to track fluid to nodes to know which to remove. Said pain is about 4 out of 10, I said you could have surprised me with that one. But no, they called two days ago to tell me!

        Liked by 1 person

      5. Yes I think I’d have preferred to be surprised too! Yeesh! 4-5 hours doesn’t sound too long. You’ll be awake in time for dinner!
