Monday Musings and Mammograms…

bandage-1444530_1280

I’ve got a small “thing” scheduled for tomorrow (as a friend of mine calls it) because of a finding on my mammogram from last week.  It should be fine, according to the radiologist who spoke to me, what they call a low suspicion of malignancy.  Intellectually I know that’s true, but in my heart and the pit of my stomach, I’m a little worried.   But, truly, just a little.  I’ve been through this before three years ago and that finding was benign.

So please don’t worry, I just wanted to let you know I will probably miss a few days of blogging, but after they wrap me with an elastic bandage to hold an ice pack on my right side and give me some pain meds I’ll be happy just reading your blogs!

      2. Thanks much. They did two separate biopsies, one was stereotactic. Hope not to repeat that, ouch! Apparently there are two things, I should have results by end of week. I know you understand and I appreciate your prayers <3. How are you doing??

  15. Yes I know this happened to me a couple of years ago and I told my OB/GYN, “See this is exactly why I don’t get mammograms. Nothing but trouble 🙂 ” You are young and those damn machines see way too much as far a I’m concerned. (( ❤ )) We must do lunch this fall, so much has happened in my life and I sure could use a friend. It'll be fine, I know it will. Love ya, D…

      1. I deal with anxiety and panic attacks on a regular basis, and one thing I’ve started telling myself is that I don’t know anything until I know something. It helps me, but maybe it would be a good thing to remind yourself too, huh?

      2. Yeah, I know, they used 3D imagry at the end so I’m guessing they see something and don’t even know what it is. But true, it’s .5 centimeters so even if it is something to worry about, it’s pretty small! And if I’d waited another year or whatever, who knows. And I shouldn’t care, but I already have one scar from before on the same boob… 😦

      3. That sucks. They did laser surgery on my mom to remove something they determined to be benign but didn’t want it to develop into something. They had to tattoo the entry points for the operation. Not fun!

    1. I’ve had a biopsy and surgery three years ago and I was plenty nervous then, feel better since I know what to expect. Hopefully this will be benign, too, but won’t know until a few days if they want to do another surgery. Just a pain in my boob, lol! And my first thought, was, oh, not another scar on the same side — like who is going to care?? I think there won’t be any photos 🙂
