Waterlogged…

boating-1259607_1920

Yesterday the family went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Ten of us covered in sunscreen, drinking gallons of water, tea, lemonade, Coke, etc. because we picked a hot and humid as hell day to go — 98 degrees with a real feel of 107!  So riding a water ride was a no-brainer, right?

And then our six-person round raft made the first turn and water sloshed over us, across our laps and into our shoes.  The next turn brought a series of waterfalls that dumped water on us while I frantically tried to protect my keratin treated, highlighted hair from being ruined by what I seriously hope was chlorinated water,  (just from a safety standpoint.)  I rode home for more than an hour in still damp clothes, sitting on folded towels in the car…

And then we changed into our suits and went swimming 😉

    1. Well, my hair for one! And then my sister kept pointing out to me that her wicking top and shorts were almost dry while I was still sopping. Ah, family time…

      5. Yeah, those tints must have cost a fortune, it’d be a shame to rip them out by the root! 🙂

      6. The older I get, the more high maintenance I am, it’s true, lol. Protect the straightened, colored, highlighted hair at all costs 🙂

  15. I love water rides but who takes the photos? Do they have a camera on a pole? 🙂 This whole episode made me grin from ear to ear! Great fun, Diane!

    1. No, just a photo I used from Pixabay to depict the ride. You’d have to take your own pictures…
