Doubts sneak in shrouded in darkness
pushing away the bright
Searching out secret hideaways of hope
Filling voids with insecurity
Then pulling tight to crush wisps of
dreams never realized
Creating questions
where there need be none
Once misted with sparkle and shine
Orderly and wrought with purpose
Now dusty as wishes floating on the breeze
What once seemed so certain
now feels merely pointless
Simply pretentious busy work
Arrange and rearrange words on a page
to make a mediocre life seem more
meaningful…
~ Diane D.
This is really lovely Diane. I read it a couple of times to let the words sink in.

I hear that. I’m not sure I’m going to write today… I feel like it’ll be nothing but anger and frustration. And did I miss the limerick prompt? Or wasn’t there one?

Ugh — it’s rough when insecurity creeps in. You do a good job of describing that difficult time. I’ve found that taking a break from work helps me. But that nagging question of “Is it worth it?” is hard to deal with.

Thank you. Sometimes I think fear of failure keeps me from taking those last few steps and completing a project. No rejection that way

I read this after trying to work around 03:00 this morning. I’d been wrestling with a chapter and feeling exactly as you describe. Knowing there’s comfort in the Company (our Blogosphere community) assured me this too will pass. Great post, excellent timing, my friend.

I can understand the lack lustre feeling at the moment. I think the past weeks of all sorts of ups and downs is playing out on a lot of people’s nerves. I don’t like uncertainty and you expressed it quite well.

Around five this morning I noticed very much the same feelings globally. We silly humans like our illusion of control and dislike any threat to it – cursed reality 😀

Very nice poem Diane. I just let the words wash over me. Thank you.
I also wanted to let you know that I’m going to be taking a break from blogging, probably for a week to a week and a half. I’m at a spiritual conference so will be booked up most of the day. Just wanted to let you know in case you didn’t hear from me! I plan to do a blog post tomorrow to let folks know. ❤
Abundant blessings your way.

One word – chocolatefever! (okay – maybe 2 words squashed together)
That’s what’s usually behind it for me.
You know that I have the same gremlin – you just read about it on my blog (sorry – shameless plug: https://levishedated.wordpress.com/2016/06/28/trojan-horse/). The only difference is that I put a frame around it (a context) and turned it into a leaning tool. Isn’t it great how context changes everything? 🙂 You know what I mean(?)

I don’t think I ever know what you really mean! Usually chocolate would help but sometimes I’m just bummed about stuff and everything seems like a waste of time. Better now, tho 🙂

Good to hear that you’re better now, Diane. But the best antidote for it all really is something beyond all the fluctuation on this level. You’ll know what I mean if you read my blog to the end. 🙂

I was out of blogworld for three days. I have spent the entire day reading posts. Apparently, this weekend I caught a cold. So, my head is pounding and my eyes a bit swollen and tired. The reason I tell you this is because when I opened this notification, I told myself it would be the last post I read today.
I am so happy I did. What a perfect way to end my blogging day. I concur with many of the things our mutual blogging friends said. There were several great lines in this piece, but those last three lines will be admired by any writer who reads them.
Diane, this is one of your best. Bravo.
Thanks for the wonderful end to my blogging day.
