Kindness…

kindness-1197351_1920

I’m participating in the Kindness Challenge that Niki is hosting at The Richness of a Simple Life.  This is my post for Weeks Four and Five cause I’ve fallen behind a bit.  I’m not sure why this topic is giving me so much trouble.  Perhaps it’s because I’m usually a really kind person anyway, so there’s so little room for improvement 😉 ?

(Hubby is shaking his head, no, that’s not it!)

So I have tried to be really kind and appreciate all the kindness around me in the blogosphere these past few weeks. Let me give you a couple of examples:

This is an exchange that took place with my new friend Robert over at Levishedated and his post on Adam and Eve.

Me:   I’m thinking you might have too much time on your hands😀

Robert:  Oh I’m so glad that you put a big, fat, hairy smiley face at the end of that because I was just about to burst into tears!😀

Me:  Yes, the international symbol for I can say anything I want, even if it’s borderline mean or condescending, but I was just KIDDING!

Robert:  Hahaha – you’re priceless!:)

Me:  Thank you!  You, too!

There, did you see how kind we were to each other, and funny to boot?

No, well, here’s another example with Fictional Kevin at his post, I Miss You:

Me:  You’re such a sweet man!

Fictional Kevin:  Awwwwwww

Me:  Well, not to me, obviously…

Fictional Kevin:  I am a sweet guy. Sometimes sarcasm is how I let you know I love you, Diane.

Me:  Of course, like when boys chase you and pull your hair! Or like my brothers (all of you) treat me everyday, you know, noogies and stuff

See, can you feel the love and kindness yet?  No, you say?

Well, how about this one between me and Drew, The Lonely Author:

Me:   It’s so hard to be a Chicago sports fan lately (except maybe the Cubs this year!)   But all all my New York friends are such PITAs about their teams and I very unfairly lumped you in there:)

Drew: That was unfair. I am honest about my teams. Jets haven’t won since 1969. My Yankees stink. My Ranger are pretty good. Now, don’t talk to me about the cheating Patriots or Red Sox, then I lose my head.

Me:  I know and I’m sorry!  OMG we’re not breaking up over sports, are we??

Drew:  NEVER lol Smooches

Me: Whew!  Mwah ❤

See how kind and loving that was?  And I learned not to discuss sports or call New Yorkers PITAs!

And finally, my very talented friend Sandra at What Sandra Thinks has been so kind to let everyone know  – over and over and over😀 – that today is her birthday so please stop over at her blog (if you’re over 18) and wish her a happy day!!  Yay!!

Did you see how I added the big smiley face to let Sandra know I was JUST KIDDING?

  1. Hahaha Love this. You are one of the kindest and sweetest persons I have met here in Blogworld. I am so happy that we met. And while we are taling sports I need your Cubbies to beat the Mets. As a Yankees fan I am getting abused over here.

  8. Aww, Diane, you’re so sweet. And hilarious. I’m sorry I’m only getting to this post just now. I had to eat cake to the point of near explosion… and I am going to need actual real caffeinated coffee… at 9pm… because I’m sooo tired. I have a little cake-regret. Will I have a cake-over in the morning? How do I fix that? More cake? You know I’m only ridiculous and pathetic about my birthday because of my other life, right? 🙂 Thank you so much for your kindness… 🙂

You’re wonderful for spreading the kindness. To me, kindness doesn’t take a lot of work — but it can create big benefits. And you should be proud of the Cubs, since they’re kicking butt this year 🙂
