He’s not really a rock star, but Ed Sheeran is my new obsession.  He could sing Thinking out Loud to me over and over *sigh* and cry on my shoulder about his $20 million (yikes!) lawsuit…

Who would you choose?  (And am I the only one bothered because it should say “an elevator”?)

  1. Last year, I would have said David Bowie, but I don’t think I’m ready for that kind of elevator yet. 🙂

I’d probably say Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend. I’d love to talk to him.

Oh, and grammatically speaking, you are not the only person bothered by the “a” there. You and I can be on an elevator together any time. The time would fly. 🙂

  2. I didn’t even have to think twice about it…Steven Tyler. I saw him at age 14, when Aerosmith played their very first concert in Detroit, and I have been starry-eyed ever since. 🙂

  4. Yes, the “a” that should be “an” bothers me. And my pick is Michael Bublé! ;D

  5. The ‘a’ should be ‘an’ thing… yes… it irks my mild ocd.

My obsession with various artists…. rock star or not… changes so often. If the guy is going to sing to me, Hozier has the best voice on earth (to me… right now). If we’re going to get to know each other intimately, Guy Berryman (the bassist for Coldplay) is the first delicious man that comes to mind at the moment.

    1. I was going to say that while I love rock music, I couldn’t think of an artist I’d be comfortable with in an enclosed space — but Hozier, yes! I believe he has a gentle soul. Plus he’s good looking. 😉

      1. Wow, I would not have thought Hozier for you! I will have to listen more…

      2. He’s pretty much perfect…if he likes older women… The guy is only 26. Of course, I have no problem with that!

    2. Yes, I wasn’t sure how to take the question, either. Maybe different guys for different elevators?

      1. Hahaha… Get me to a hotel! They have lots! (Or anywhere there are more…) I have a problem. 😀

      1. Yes! The whole *ahem* package is nice! He’s so funny, enthusiastic and talented. And though not classically handsome, I think he’s totally hot!

      2. Haha, I didn’t look that closely at his package, but next time I see him on tv, I’ll be checking!

  7. Tough question! I’d have to say Paul McCartney. He’s seen so much, and has accomplished so much, that I’d try to pick his brain the entire time.

    1. Yep, I thought of him, too. He was one of my first crushes …

  8. Yes! I noticed it right away!

I’d say Eddie Vedder. Timeless voice, ageless songs, and he’s so versatile. With his music, lol.

  9. I adore Ed and not cause were both red heads lol! He’s incredibly talented and seems like such a down to earth guy . Stuck in an elevator I would have to turn back time and meet up with Pablo Neruda. 🙂

But , anyone who reads TheTurtle ramblings knows my first answer would be my Robbie (Robbie Williams of course) …and I would want a very slow elevator 😉

  20. I think it would have to be Bono from U2. At least U2 was the most influential band for me in high school. Or maybe the lead singer from AHA especially if he rescued me from the comic book. 😉 So many choices not enough elevators!

    1. So true! Bono is a great choice. Bet he’d be fascinating to talk to.

  21. Ed Sheeran is great but my pick would be Mark Wilkinson. You’ve probably not heard of him, he’s Australian and not as well known as Ed but we saw him live Saturday night and he was brilliant. Great guitarist, great voice. Oh, and he’s cute too! 🙂

    1. I looked him up and listened to Another Necklace. Wow, what a wonderful voice he has! And yes, he’s awfully cute, good choice 🙂

  23. […] Diane from LadiesWhoLunchReviews posted last week, if we were stuck in an elevator with a rock star who would it be?  No surprises by now.  Mark Wilkinson may not be a rock star but he can serenade me indefinitely, or until they fix the lift! […]

  24. Hahaha! You know, I also get pretty irritated when I spot these kinds of grammatical mistakes 😛 And Ed Sheerans lawsuit!! Yikes indeed. “Photograph” , the one which he is sued for is one of my all-time fav songs..Such beautiful lyrics..

  25. Hello Diane. I’m here via Miriam’s blog. This looks fun!

My choice is Bret Michaels. I’ve loved him since I was 15 years old. Sigh……
I still have confetti that I scooped up off the floor after I saw Poison in concert. Now that’s a fan right? 😉

    1. Well, hi, I’m so glad you joined in. Bret Michaels is a great choice. I know he went through lots of medical issues in recent years and still kept on singing!
