Loving You… Haiku

Loving you today

Is as easy as summer

Warm endless sunshine

When the seasons turn

And autumn brings slow decline

Love will still be bright

I love your mushy May haiku! Well done! Now you’re in trouble, because the are addictive (I blame Al entirely…). 🙂

    1. Thank you so much. That means a lot, coming from you! They are kind of fun, like limericks. I need the structure to follow 🙂

It’s interesting to me how some of us love the structure, some loathe it, and others (like me) like it some days and not others. It IS good to have constraints, but especially with haiku there is so much weight in each word! I need to do more limericks too, those are indeed fun. 🙂

      2. It is interesting. I’ve not written that much poetry since school and I feel lost without the structure. Most of my poetry sounds juvenile to my ears, but I’m trying to put more out there, along with fiction. Spreading my wings, so to speak! 🙂

  8. Beautiful! I seem to remember you saying you weren’t as comfortable with poetry…yet everything I’ve read by you contradicts that sentiment. Nice job with the Haiku!

    1. Thanks for saying that! Figured I’d just put it out there and see what happens. I still feel better with structure like Haiku or limericks, but I’m very glad you liked them!
