My Personal Trainer, Pat #National Limerick Day

fitness-1348867_1920

I’ve been wanting to tell you about my new personal trainer at our park district rec center.  She is little and fun and super nice, but just as evil as my other trainer, Keith, in her own way!  And she’s almost the same age as me.

I told her about my blog and that I wanted to write about her and asked how she started and all that, which I will write about later because it’s a pretty wonderful story.

Then I said, by the way, what size do you wear, like a size zero?  She laughed merrily and said, oh, no, at least a size two!  (For the uninitiated, that’s about the size of a 12 year-old child)  Sorry, did that sound bitchy?  Here’s a little limerick I wrote about Pat.

I have a new trainer named Pat

A woman with no body fat

She’s tiny, tough and sweet

But I do hope she’ll eat

She’s barely a size two, if that!

  1. I hate her already! 😀 Just kidding! (Not) Great limerick and introduction to Pat. 😀

    1. If she weren’t so nice it would be easy to!

  2. No that doesn’t sound snarky. Not to make excuses, but some of these physical trainers are a bit unrealistic. I would refuse to work with one that borders on anorexic. By the way, nice limerick.

    1. Thanks, she’s just a tiny person and I’m just jealous, lol. She’s pretty strong really.

      1. Probably could kick all of our asses. I’ll stick to feminine women and their little flaws.

    2. Why don’t you write a limericks today? About something silly ?

      1. Laughing. I am struggling to write a decent grocery list. I was thinking along the same lines, going back to my roots and writing something funny to get the juices flowing again. Thanks for the suggestion.

      2. You just made me snort coffee out of my nose, in a very ladylike way, of course! I bet even your grocery list would be fun…bananas, right? 😉

      3. Exactly. I am sure you do everything in a ladylike way. Never doubted that for a second.

      1. One of my sisters has always been a tiny size… and she eats so much crap. Bitch! If I’m in the same room as a cheesecake, I think my thighs grow.

      2. Haha, it’s so unfair! My sister is small, too, as are most of my cousins. I’m 5’7″ and I’m like an Amazon on my family!

      3. I am also 5’7″… one of my other sisters is 5’9″!

    1. I haven’t been a size 2 since 5th grade! I think that ship has sailed for me, 🙂

  8. Her legs look very thin and her color coordinated outfit with shoes were adorable, Diane. I am glad she is nice, so it helps for you to cooperate with. Sometimes I picture a drill sergent kind of personal trainer and would balk and probably say, “NO!”

  9. Sounds like a good idea. I’m going to try my hand at a limerick. It made me smile and I don’t think I did that at all today. Thanks D 😉

    1. Oh, you should. I’m not so great at poetry, but limericks have that structure you follow which makes it easier for me. It’s fun and you can do the challenge every week at Mind and Life Matters.

      1. Well I’ll go check it out but I’m doing a lot with the blog. I just checked out the kindness one we are doing. We were suppose to be kind to ourselves this week. Sounds to me you are going to have to start next week after the beating you took from your PT…I’m pretty sure that’s not being kind to yourself 🙂

      2. Oh, but it was! I’ll have to make it funny, I think! 🙂

      3. Good for you !!! Every time I think about exercising, I lay down on the couch until the urge passes. I always get hurt when I exercise. I think it is from my car accident when I was younger. They didn’t fix any of the broken bones i.e. pelvis or the left arm. So I will just offer it up, and pass on the exercising ❤ Good luck to you though 😉

      5. That’s always the best reason ever. I’m sure you being a mom, when your kids wanted to know why you would say because 🙂 I know you did, we all did…Because the best reason of all 🙂

      1. I went and worked out with a pt once, the operative word being once. I felt so sick afterward. Dizzy and sick to my stomack. Yeah I was pretty much done at that point. The husband is a runner and walking is as close as I get to any kind of exercise ❤

      2. I do like to exercise, no more running for me, though. I weigh more now than I want to so I have to keep moving but boy was it easier when I was younger!

  12. I’ve never had personal trainers…Learnt yoga when I was young and have been following the routine ever since. Your trainer does seem a bit unrealistic with her size 😀 But I hope you benefit from her expertise…
