Slippery when Wet…

I’m giving this rework an R rating just because it’s a little racier than what you’d normally read at LWL… 😉

th

Banged our heads upon the headboard

Sometimes forgot to lock the bedroom door

Occasionally in our younger days

We even crashed onto the floor.

Unknowingly, you’d roll onto my hair

My helpless moans gave you such a look of pride

Until you finally realized

The reason why I cried!

We’d joke about calling 911

But what would we tell the paramedics?

Our only excuse was that we’d again forget

How slippery things can be when they are wet 😉

~Diane D.

Just a little poem for mushy May that I published on another site awhile ago.   I have a feeling a lot of couples can relate!

  2. Yep, we can relate. Broke a bed once, stopped for a sec, looked at each other, chuckled, then kept on going. Gotta love lovin’ your love, right? 😃

    1. You’ve got to see the humor in it! Broke a bed, hmm?

      1. Yep, it was an old antique bed and the side rail separated from the headboard. Plop! Mattress was laying at a strange angle, one corner up, other corner down. I put it back together, but it was never really right again, and same thing happened a few more times. Finally had to let it go. Bittersweet too. That bed had been good to us, and was where the boys’ were conceived. Finally wouldn’t stay together though. 😕

      2. Well, I guess a bed can only take so much, uhm, use, right? You guys obviously need sturdy rather than antique 🙂

      3. Hahaha! Evidently! It was a full size, and we replaced it with a queen. I miss the smaller bed actually. 😃

    1. We usually found more silliness than mush after the first few years, but it’s all good!

      7. Yes, but she sounds like your biggest supporter and that’s what keeps a couple together — well, that and the art of compromise!

      8. Communication is where we got it all to work, when we talk, we can make it all make sense, when we don’t there can be no compromise and I have her back as much as she has mine, because there’s no other way to be together.

  4. Nothing like breaking a bed, or breaking in a new one!
We left our door open one afternoon, and our college age son wondered in…..He ran and hollered back “Couldn’t you put a sock on the door like everyone else! I can’t un-see that!”
