It’s a Mystery…

Mystery read, you give me frights

Why am I drawn to scary writes?

I’m in the middle of a creepy book

Someone disappears, no second look

Can’t close my eyes all night — this bites!

  1. Like movies! I have been watching Orphan Black and hardly slept last night.

  2. This is funny — I love it. And the picture is perfect. And you need to read a sappy romance to help you sleep. 🙂

  3. I love a good thriller too. Though the reading’s taken a back seat lately and my tastes have changed to more saucy reads! Love the photo. 🙂

  4. I remember reading ghost stories as a kid at bedtime, getting scared and being unable to sleep… but doing exactly the same the next night!

    1. Haha, why do we do that? I read In Cold Blood as a young teen and couldn’t sleep for a couple of days, but I had to keep reading till I finished! Books are way scarier than movies for me…

      1. I mostly agree, but some films that play on your mind (and don’t have a silly man in a costume) can work just as well… I remember defrosting the freezer once while watching The Shining. The random sounds of ice cracking in the background made the film even more terrifying!

      2. Yes, it had to be a movie that’s really well done, otherwise they seem too campy and just make me laugh…

  5. Ohhhhh, so what are you reading? Now I’m dying to know! My current book is pretty creepy, too. “Pretty Girls” by Karin Slaughter. Highly reccommend!

  7. Well done. That is an interesting question. What is it about some books or movies that draw our attention even though we know we will be frightened.
