Me & JP, Conversations With a 3-Year-Old…

20151005_103457

JP is my three-year-old grandson. He and his mom and dad and their English bulldog live with us while their new house is being built.  One of the best things about having them here is spending time talking with him.  It makes me hopeful for the next generation.  He is so wise and so much fun!

JP:  Nana, want to do puzzles with me?

Me:  Sure, let’s sit at the table.

(He proceeds to put his 36-piece  Jungle Book puzzle together with really no help from me.  Proud nana moment here.)

Me:  Wow, that was a great job!

JP:  I love you, Nana.

Me:  I love you, too, bugs.

JP:  You are the best nana in the whole world.  (Hugging me.)

Me:  And you are the best grandson.

JP:   Nana, I’m petting your hair like a dog.

  9. Kids say the darndest things, Diane! J.P. saying he was “petting your hair” cracked me up! 😀
Do you remember watching the Art Linkletter show when we were kids? I believe that was what it was called. Smiles, Robin

    1. His new house is huge and gorgeous and they’re moving in this week. But I’ll still babysit 2 days a week so I’ll see him. He is such a riot!

      1. Good news about the house – and about baby sitting. It’s nice to live close enough to do that. It sounds like an exciting time for you all. 😀
